Sizes/Measurements
All measurements shown are taken from the original pattern. This means that the size you see is the actual measurement the bag was cut to. Due to varying thicknesses and tempers of leather, and the handmade nature of our bags, all measurements are approximate. Feel free to contact us for more information on a specific bag.
“B” Grade Bags
We hold our leather and craftsmanship to very high standards. Occasionally during the making of a bag something doesn’t go just as we had planned or we find a flaw in the leather. These bags are marked as “B” grade and are offered at a reduced price. Please note that the issue that causes this designation will be cosmetic only. We will not sell a bag that cannot function correctly or is not fit to be used.
Exclusive vs In Stock Bags
Our Exclusive bags are packed with all the extra little touches that can be packed into a bag. Each bag will feature different combinations of leather and design specifics. Bags in this category are generally available to custom order in a variety of leathers and sizes.
Bags not designated as Exclusive are no less special, and maybe more unique. In stock bags are made from leather we have on hand and in designs that best showcase the leather. You are welcome to special order this style of bag, but colors shown may not be available.
Leather
With our many years experience in western saddlery and chap making we appreciate leathers that are rugged and durable. We tend to like heavier leathers, but also utilize lighter leather when it is better suited for the job.
Along with using leather we have available, we also like to use a variety of interesting leathers, often buying odd lots or small batch leathers that won’t be found mainstream. As a small shop we can we are excited to be able to use these unique leathers to make bags you will love.
We have made a personal commitment to our land, the world, and future generations to reduce waste. This is what has spurred us on to create our in stock bags using leather left from custom chap production.
Hardware
Whether it is an Exclusive bag, or in stock, you can rest assured your bag will have the very best hardware. We use the same hardware in both lines and all of it is rust proof and heavy duty. For a gold look to our hardware our choice is solid brass. When a silver look better compliments the bag we use nickel plated brass. This is the same solid brass, but with a heavy plating of nickel for the shiny silver look.
We are proud to offer the BuckleGuy line of lever snaps as our strap snaps and think you will love them as much as we do.
